Veteran TV stars Tim Allen and Reba McIntyre will continue to entertain Friday night viewers on ABC now that the network has ordered 5 additional episodes of Last Man Standing and Malibu Country, TV Line has confirmed. ABC made the decision to pick up additional 30 minute installments of the Tim Allen comedy after the series managed to show impressive ratings since its debut back in 2010.
Last Man’s recent move to Friday nights in the 8 o’clock time slot has also improved viewership and kept fans sticking around for more of the former ‘Tool Time’ star’s antics and storylines revolving around his all female family and his sports store. The comedy has been deemed ABC’s “top-rated” shows in that time slot among adults 18-49.
Reba’s freshman hit comedy ‘Malibu Country’, airing at 8:30pm, has also grabbed positive reception since its pilot episode. The series follows the country singer and her family whose lifestyles take a dramatic turn when they move from Nashville to Malibu following her divorce. The series has become No. 1 in it’s time period when it comes to women demographics and teens between the ages 12-17.
