Disney XD has given the green light to the popular comedy series Kickin’ It. The show will enter into its thirds season on the network. Adam Bonnett, the Senior Vice President of Original Programming of Disney Channels Worldwide, broke the news of the pick-up. “Disney XD viewers have clearly connected with this series about friendship and martial arts,” said Bonnett. “We look forward to telling more stories in Season Three, where our characters use their martial arts knowledge and skills out in the world, taking their ‘mojo’ out of the dojo!”
Season three’s storyline will continue to build on the characters of the Bobby Wasabi Martial Arts Academy and their adventures. ‘Kickin’ It’, created by Jim O’Doherty (Grounded for Life), airs all new episodes on Disney XD on Mondays. The show is executive produced by J.J. Wall (Til Death) along with O’Doherty.
The cast line-up includes Dylan Ryder Synder (Life During Wartime), Jason Earles (Hannah Montana), martial artist Leo Howard (G.I.: The Rise of Cobra), Mateo Arias (Cold Case) and Olivia Holt (Girl vs. Monster). Currently the ‘Kickin’ It’ cast is taking part in the Nintendo Wii U sponsorship, a weekly event that airs every Monday at 7:30 p.m. throughout the month of November.
