The new freshman series The Neighbors has received a full season pick-up from the ABC network, EW has confirmed. Although the Chris Koch directed series has failed to impress many with its mediocre ratings of just 6.8 million viewers in its Wednesday night timeslot, it appears as though the ABC network is looking to see how things will pan out for the alien comedy.
The series stars Jami Gertz (Still Standing), Max Charles (The Amazing Spider Man), Lenny Venito (War of the Worlds) and Isabella Cramp (Happy Endings) in a story from writer Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love) that centers on an average American family and the discovery that they are living among unique visitors from another planet in their gated New Jersey community. Actors Tim Joe (Glory Daze), Mobin Khan ( Broken Spirits), Tracy Weisert (Rock of Ages) and Simon Templeman (The Event) also star in the show.
ABC’s full season pick-up of ‘The Neighbors’ will bring the show order to a total of 22 episodes for season one. Could ‘The Neighbors’ turn things around and pull up their ratings? The show airs Wednesdays on ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Tell us what you think comedy fans. Sound off below on the extraterrestrial series.
