The ABC Network has ordered three additional scripts of the new freshman series The Neighbors, Deadline has revealed. The show centers on a typical family who find themselves at home in a gated community in the suburbs of New Jersey with aliens among them.
Actors Jami Gertz (Still Standing) and Lenny Venito (War of the Worlds) lead the series from creator Dan Fogelman (Cars 2). The supporting cast includes Max Charles (The Amazing Spider Man), Isabella Cramp (Happy Endings), Tracy Weisert (My Name Is Khan) and more.
The additional script order comes after a strong premiere before the award winning comedy series ‘Modern Family’. The show managed to grab 1.9 million viewers in the 8:30 pm est timeslot on Wednesday night. While at first glance ‘The Neighbors’ plot comes off as hard to swallow, fans who have already tuned into the new series note its hilarious script that is surprisingly entertaining.
