It’s a fine day in the neighborhood for Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) over on the new CBS hit drama Elementary.
Leading ladies Callie Thorne (series star of USA Network’s ‘Necessary Roughness’) and Lisa Edelstein (series star of the long-running FOX medical drama ‘House’) with both be paying a visit to New York – in other words both actresses will be making guest appearances in the new series.
First up, Thorne will play Terry D’Amico in the sixth episode. Her character is a veteran NYPD detective who shows up “amid discussion that she and Captain Gregson (Aidan Quinn) imprisoned the wrong man for a string of deadly home invasions years ago”.
The following week (episode 7) Edelstein will guest as Heather Vanowen, the charismatic CEO of a high-end PR consultancy, who is described as bright and confident. She will cross paths with Holmes (Miller) “during his investigation of a deadly bombing that appears to have been aimed at her company”.
Before landing her lead role on ‘Necessary Roughness’, Thorne got her first big break on ‘Homicide: Life on the Streets’ and later appeared on TV shows such as ‘ER’, ‘The Wire’, ‘Prison Break’, ‘Burn Notice’ and ‘Rescue Me’. As for Edelstein, she had guest roles on ‘The West Wing’, ‘Leap of Faith’ and ‘Felicity’ before landing on ‘House’. And since that time she has lent her voice to ‘American Dad’ and made a guest appearance on ‘The Good Wife’ as well as one of the lead roles in the Lifetime made-for-TV movie ‘Blue-Eyed Butcher’.
‘Elementary’, now in its debut season on CBS, will air an all-new episode tomorrow night, Thursday, October 4 at 10/9c.
