The Revolution is starting early, guys.
NBC has released the entire pilot episode of their post-apocalyptic adventure series online. Revolution comes from super producer J.J. Abrams, Iron Man director Jon Favreau and the creator of Supernatural, Eric Kripke. It takes place 15 years after a catastrophic blackout leaves the world without electricity and the pilot focuses on an unlikely trio’s trek to Chicago.
If you were hoping to see influences from Abrams and Kripke’s earlier shows popping up in the new series, then you won’t be disappointed. The first episode includes plenty of reminders of Abrams’ hit series Lost: there are flashbacks, a plane crash and the always terrific Elizabeth Mitchell, and in case the Supernatural fans were feeling left out, one of the opening scenes happens to feature two guys in a car.
You can watch the full pilot right here, or at NBC.com. After you watch, be sure to share your first impressions of the series in the comments.
Revolution premieres Sep. 17 at 10:00 p.m. on NBC.
