Season four of NBC’s Parenthood promises to be a year of “new beginnings and unexpected endings” for the Braverman clan. The new trailer is brief, but it manages to pack in some significant teases, including giving us our first look at guest star Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond, Men of a Certain Age). Romano is signed on for a multi-episode arc this season, and his character will be a source of tension in Sarah (Lauren Graham) and Mark’s (Jason Ritter) relationship.
Hopefully Mark can avoid being on the receiving end of one of those unexpected endings, but Sarah’s son Drew (Miles Heizer) isn’t going to have much choice in the matter. The trailer reveals that Drew will be dealing with his first breakup, and the poor guy is on the receiving end. Might this be the year that the usually mild-mannered Drew follows in his big sister’s footsteps and starts acting out? Either way, it’s clear season four is going to bring its fair share of challenges for Sarah’s side of the family.
The rest of the Bravermans only appear briefly, but we see Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Jasmine (Joy Bryant) settling into married life, and what looks like Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina (Monica Potter) preparing to send Haddie (Sarah Ramos) off to college. Watch the full trailer below.
Season 4 of Parenthood premieres Sep. 11 on NBC.
