Actress Lucy Lawless has gone from ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’ to ‘Battlestar Galactica’ to ‘Spartacus’ and now she will be getting her “funny on” courtesy of the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the popular actress – and recent environmental activist – will play “a single mom in Pawnee (where the show is set), who turns to the Parks Department to help with a neighborhood problem”. Andy (Chris Pratt) and Ron (Nick Offerman) are sent out to assist her with Andy picking up on the chemistry between her character, Diane, and the “always surly Ron”.
Currently it is slated that Lawless will appear in two episodes of NBC sitcom with her first episode slated to air on October 4.
Among her other TV credits are the short-lived series ‘Tarzan’ and episodes of ‘The L Word’, ‘The X-Files’ and ‘No Ordinary Family’. She also had roles in the box office films ‘Bedtime Stories’, ‘Eurotrip’ and a nearly unrecognizable cameo in ‘Spider-Man’ (the one with Tobey Maguire).
‘Parks and Recreation’ will be back for its fifth season on NBC as of Thursday, September 20 at 9:30/8:30c.
