Edward Norton Will Play Minister On ‘The Simpsons’

Actor Edward Norton will appear in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons according to reports from EW. Norton’s alter ego has been described as the “most loveable minister in the world,” which will conflict with Reverend Lovejoy, executive producer Al Jean of ‘The Simpsons’ revealed. Adding, “He is much more popular than Reverend Lovejoy, if you can believe it, and Lovejoy is really upset and becomes a hot tub salesman. It comes down to a battle between the two of them… and there’s a surprise at the end.”

‘The Bourne Legacy’ star’s appearance will take place during the episode entitled ‘Pulpit Friction’ in what will be Norton’s second visit to the world of Homer and Marge. The actor previously appeared in the animated series’ twelfth season. Natalie Portman (Thor), Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries), Zooey Deschanel (The New Girl), Steve Carell (The Office), and Patton Oswalt (Kings of Queens) are also part of the upcoming season’s guest star line-up.

Over the years Norton has appeared in ‘Modern Family’ as the guest character Izzy LaFontaine, the movie ‘Leaves of Grass’, 2008’s ‘Incredible Hulk’ as the title character, ‘Kingdom of Heaven, ‘The Italian Job’, among many other roles.

‘The Simpsons’ will make their way back to Fox on Sept. 30th in what will be the 24th year on the air.
