Actor Matt Lauria came to prominence thanks to the Jason Katims series ‘Friday Night Lights’ and now, thanks to that connection, he will be joining the cast of the acclaimed NBC series Parenthood – which is executive produced by Katims, by the way.
He will play a returning soldier from Afghanistan who bonds with fellow war vet Zeek (series regular Craig T. Nelson). This will be a major recurring role, but other details on his character name or storyline have not been revealed yet.
Prior to appearing on ‘Friday Night Lights’, Lauria had a small role in the short-lived ‘Lipstick Jungle’ and since that time he appeared in the short-lived FOX drama ‘The Chicago Code’ and episodes of ‘Burn Notice’, ‘CSI’ and ‘Person of Interest’.
‘Parenthood’ will be back for its hard-fought fourth season on NBC starting on Tuesday, September 11 at 10/9c. [Source: TV Line]
