Actor Rocky Carroll Signs New Deal with ‘NCIS’ June 14, 2012 NCIS, News Not that long ago, TV Line reported that actor Rocky Carroll, who has played Director Leon Vance on the CBS juggernaut series NCIS over the past four seasons has closed a new deal to remain with the long-running CBS series that just also happens to be the number one drama on network television. His contract will keep him playing the NCIS Director through the series’ upcoming tenth season, making him and fellow co-star David McCallum, who plays Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, as returnees for the much-anticipated return this fall. As viewers will recall, this season’s finale found all of the members of the NCIS team in jeopardy after deranged Harper Dearing (guest star Richard Schiff of ‘The West Wing’ fame) set off a car bomb directly outside the NCIS office, leaving the lives of Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team in question. Besides his work on ‘NCIS’ (and an occasional visit to its spin-off series ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’), Carroll has appeared in the comedy ‘Roc’ and the medical drama ‘Chicago Hope’ and roles in the box office films ‘Yes Man’, ‘Crimson Tide’ and ‘The Chase’. ‘NCIS’ will be back for its tenth season on CBS this fall on Tuesday nights at 8/7c.
