It was the announcement that fans of the under-appreciated NBC family drama Parenthood had been waiting for: Would actor Jason Ritter (‘The Event’) return to the show given that he and series executive producer Jason Katims had a pilot in contention for next fall? Well, the answer would be a big fat YES!
According to details acquired by TV Line straight from the actor himself at the inaugural ATX Television Festival in Austin last weekend, ““As far as I understand, they want to keep me around, and will do as many episodes with me as we can all do”.
Given that his character Mark proposed to Sarah (Lauren Graham) this news has to be the sigh of relief that the fans have been holding since the season finale way back in February.
But fans should be forewarned that Ritter will not be promoted to full-time series regular, but remaining a recurring actor with the series; but he shared that he is excited to be returning to the show, “The great thing about Jason Katims and that whole writing staff is no matter what I imagine my dream is [for Mark], they always think of something better and more beautiful”.
‘Parenthood’ will return for its fourth season this fall on Tuesday nights at 10/9c on NBC, but an official air date has not been announced yet.
