ABC Family Debuts New Video App

ABC Family has now made it possible for fans of their popular TV series’ to stream episodes across iOS devices via their new app that can be found at the iTunes store.

The new app is now available for iPads, iPhones, and the iPod Touch. Viewers can now log on and watch their favorite shows for free, with a range of ad supported episodes. ABC Family’s line-up will include the new show ‘Jane by Design’, the hit drama series ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Switched at Birth’, and ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’.

The new episodes will be available online the day after they air on the ABC Family Channel. Fans of the ABC lineup will also be able to purchase downloads of the episodes at the iTunes store as well, and enjoy features in the app that include “saving recall”. According to the announcement, “the app will also be the first from the Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) to support closed captioning.”

This latest news on ABC Family’s exciting new app comes after the success of the the ABC Player App that debuted back in 2010. The app “was recently highlighted as one of Top 25 most downloaded free iPad apps of all time.” It has “been downloaded approximately 4 million times, resulting in over 80 million episodes viewed.”
