Ringer “What Are You Doing Here, Ho-Bag” Review

Ringer What Are You Doing Here, Ho-Bag Episode 12

I gotta say, I have a hard time with this week’s episode of Ringer. The title “What are you doing here, Ho-Bag” leaves something to be desired and also does not make the show appear to be the least bit mature or creditable.

That said, this episode of Ringer wasn’t that good. The pacing was off, the story was lacking in a lot of different ways, and the writing just seemed to be disjointed. I couldn’t get a handle on it, and at times found it down right boring.

Siobhan is unknowingly leaving clues behind for Bridget, and this time around the fake Siobhan decides to try to piece together the pieces that her sister left behind. Detective Machado tends to bring a screeching halt to any sort of action on Ringer whenever he appears on the screen, but he’s just so darn pretty that I’ll forgive him.

In other news, Henry is now aware that the twins are in the same city, but why is Siobhan ready to lay everything out on the table now? Does her big plan involve Henry in some way? Does anyone really care? I sort of lost interest in the Henry story line a while ago, and just find him to be a waste of screen time at certain points.

The other big story line in “What are you doing here, Ho-Bag” would be Juliet’s mother coming to town to help with the whole teacher rape thing. Turns out that there’s video evidence showing Juliet hitting on Mr. Carpenter which seems to mean that Mr. Carpenter could never have raped Juliet because apparently she asked for it by flirting? Shame on you, Ringer writers. Shame on you.

Juliet’s mother is a horrible person and ultimately doesn’t offer any support, only calls her daughter truly horrible names and burns some baby pictures for dramatic flair. Personally, if I were Bridget, that woman would’ve been on her ass so quickly it would’ve made her head spin.

To wrap up this not so great episode, we find out that Juliet’s enemy from school comes forward to say that Mr. Carpenter forced himself on her too, so I guess that means this story line isn’t going anywhere soon.

I give this episode of Ringer 2.5 stars out of 5, and that’s only because I have a soft spot for Sarah Michelle Gellar. Something’s gotta give to bring the show back to early episodes! What are your thoughts on Ringer?
