After playing a serial murderer on the most recent season of ‘Dexter’, actor Colin Hanks will be playing someone for whom he is much more familiar: himself. Yes, you read that correctly: Colin Hanks will be playing Colin Hanks in an upcoming episode of the hit ABC comedy Happy Endings.
According to a report at Entertainment Weekly, Hanks will play a new celebrity friend of Dave (Zachary Knighton). And, why is he coming into Dave’s world? Well, it would seem that the Steak Me Home Tonight truck has become a Chicago hotspot boasting designer drinks. The episode is expected to air later this season.
Besides his work on Dexter, Hanks got his start on the drama ‘Roswell’ (which included fellow cast members Katherine Heigl, Emilie de Ravin, Nick Wechsler and Shiri Appleby) and has appeared in episodes of ‘Mad Men’, ‘Numb3rs’, the short-lived series ‘The Good Guys’ and the mini-series ‘Band of Brothers’. On the theatrical side, Hanks has appeared in the such box office films as ‘King Kong’, ‘Untraceable’, ‘W.’, and ‘The House Bunny’.
The next new episode of ‘Happy Endings’, now in its second season, is slated to air in February on ABC at 9:30/8:30c.
