USA Network Delays Premiere Of ‘Common Law’

The USA network has decided to push the premiere date of its new freshman series Common Law to the summer of 2012, instead of its originally planned January 26th debut, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The network will instead rely on the return of its other hit shows, airing new episodes of White Collar with stars Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay, as well as Royal Pains that features leading actors Mark Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo.

The character network looks to be bringing Common Law’s premiere to the summer schedule, a time that seems more promising to USA Network, who has previously launched new series with great success during those hot months.

For the unaware, Common Law stars both actors Michael Ealy (The Good Wife, Californication) and Warren Kole (The Chicago Code, NCIS:Los Angeles), who play two dysfunctional Los Angeles detectives by the name of West Mitchell and Travis Marks. The duo will have to attend couples therapy as ordered by their captain. The series is written by Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley.

Tell us what you think of USA’s decision to delay the comedy drama? Will you be tuning in when the cop series comes to the network this coming summer?

I’m really disappointed by this because I was looking forward to it. But realistically USA has been getting slaughtered this fall. It’s shows haven’t gotten as high of ratings as it did this summer. I still hate that U.S.A moved Psych out of the Summer. They could have put it on Friday’s last Summer where it used to be instead of throwing it against network shows. It’s ratings this fall against network competition have been low.

Yes, I will be tuning in to Common Law . . . It looks like a great new series! I was really looking forward to seeing it this winter though . . .
