Rizzoli & Isles “Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet” Review December 13, 2011 Reviews, Rizzoli & Isles In this episode of Rizzoli & Isles, Jane goes back to her high school reunion, hence the title “Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet.” Apparently it wasn’t very sweet at all because Jane seems to hate most of her former classmates. But when one of the few she actually did like ends up murdered, it’s up to her to figure out why. I’ve heard of bad reunions but this one probably has to go down in the history books. After no less than three people show up dead, Jane and Maura have their hands full trying to figure out what is going on. When they discover that the third victim died of a heart attack caused by a defective valve manufactured by another classmate, things start making more sense. Turns out it wasn’t the dickhead who owned the company that made the valve who was behind it, but his bitch of a wife. Sounds like those two were made for each other. Meanwhile Jane and Korsak both are dealing with romantic issues. Casey has to miss the reunion and he and Jane are left with Skyping as their only option to stay in touch. Korsak’s ex-wife shows up and asks him to help finance her new business venture. He knows that’s the only reason she’s trying to get close to him again, but he’s willing to go along with it if it means he gets to see his 16-year-old stepson. Proving once again that he’s the softest “tough guy” I’ve ever seen. My favorite bits.. Jane listing all the reasons people don’t want to go to their high school reunion. “Okay, if I wanted support like that, I would’ve called my mother.” “Well unless he arrives DEAD, I think he’ll be up for some sex, no?” Wondering why that Maria girl wanted to go anywhere near that Giovanni guy. “Someone has to give a voice to plants.” Haha, was that an NCIS reference I detected with the “Bete Noir” line? “The Anglican church made women cover their heads.” “With a pink migrating goose?” Jane’s reaction to seeing her friend Steve on that field. Casey scaring the crap out of Jane by popping up on her computer. “It’s naked day at BPD.” – Sounds like an interesting day at work. Korsak’s shock at seeing his ex-wife in the café. “Why do you have to be so snippy?” “Why do you have to be so snoopy? Frost pulling up Jane’s high school photos. Korsak’s “like I said.” when Jane said she wasn’t so sure Steve’s date in high school was worth Rory taking the blame for something Steve did. Aw. Jane and Maura discussing the benefits and drawbacks of big boobs. “What the most common ailment? Your ‘fun facts’?” Another dead classmate? Seriously?? I’m starting to feel happy I didn’t go to that school. “I hate it when you correct me.” “Well I hate it when you forget about Mr. Adverb.” Korsak admitting that he didn’t care if Melody was back for money, as long as he got to see Josh. So sweet. Korsak pulling up Frost’s old rap video. Hahahaha! “I don’t care how much money he has, he’s always going to be a dickhead.” Cursing my DVR because it cut off the last minute of the episode. All I got to see was them starting to play tennis. I hope nothing interesting happened after that. Stupid DVR. Grrr. What did you think of this episode of Rizzoli & Isles? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you! Follow me on Twitter @mokibobolink Anonymous Grrr….. I’m with you, I just got finished watching and my DVR also cut off just as they began the tennis match! Don’t think much could have happened do you? I was hoping that Casey would show up in person but guess not It was a pretty good episode, liked all the pictures of them in their high school days. Nothing of Maura though – maybe another time. As always, agreed with your “best bits”. Thanks for reviewing. Chelsey Another “best bit”… Jane’s reaction to seeing Korsak’s ex-wife….she reached for her gun with one hand and used the other to pull her hand off her gun. Smaxwell8907 Haha that part cracked me up ptjackson You missed nothing. They played a little against the wall, the ball went flying, Maura told Jane she had to go get it since she missed it, then they decided to race for it, and it ended. Hah, this is the first and likely only time the old vcr wins over dvr…. LOL…. ok, stop giggling at how much of a dinosaur I am! Great review, I agree with all your best bits. I love this show and the womance!
