Thank God! Misha Collins is Coming Back to ‘Supernatural’

SUPERNATURAL "The Man Who Knew Too Much"

It couldn’t happen soon enough for the fans of angel Castiel (actor Misha Collins) from Supernatural. Castiel is coming back later this season (well sort of)!

Yes, you read that correctly! A spokesperson from Warner Bros. told the folks over at TV Line that Collins will be back for Episode 17 as well as “at least two additional episodes” – but it seems he may not necessarily appear as Castiel

“It has always been our intention to bring back Misha in some form,” executive producer Sera Gamble stated. “We certainly can’t say too much about where the story is going to go, but we love Misha and want to continue to work with him”.

‘Supernatural’ just aired its fall finale this past Friday, December 2 and the next new episode will air on The CW on Friday, January 6 at 9/8c.

I find it interesting that this news comes just a few weeks after we published my article about how the fans wanted him back.

    Coincidence? …..yeah, probably. LOL.

But whatever, at least he’s coming back! Woot!

Sera has said over and over again from the very beginning that they would bring him back. Just because many Cas fans thought she was lying doesn’t mean she wasn’t telling the truth. There is absolutely no reason to think she is a liar. She is simply doing what she has always said they would do.

Just for the record, I never said she was a liar. All I did was express my intense need to have him back as soon as possible. But whatever, I’m just happy he’s coming back! Yay! *happy dance for joy*

Sorry if I was unclear. I never thought you had said she was liar. But I have seen so many comments from people saying they didn’t believe her, she was only saying that to shut up Cas fans, and most recently a comment saying she only brought him back because she caved to pressure. I have had conversations with people where I say “She is saying this to the press, do you really think she would lie to the press?” And the answer was yes, they thought she was lying to the press. I realize you were making a joke about your article on fans wanting him back being the cause of her decision, it just reminded me of all the other comments I had seen. I just wanted to defend Sera in general, not against you. I just wanted to make the point that she has done exactly what she said she would do all along. I can understand perfectly well why Cas fans would not like the decision she made, but in my mind there’s a difference between that and impugning her integrity.

Cool, no worries. As a writer myself, I try never to talk down about writers in general and personally, I am a huge fan of Sera. It was an honor to interview her at Comic Con and I loved getting the chance to talk to the person behind the show these days.

Oh good, I’m really glad you’re not offended. I really wasn’t attacking anyone, but I should have made it clear your joke only prompted my desire to say Sera was just doing what she had always said she would do because other people might take it seriously. I’m a writer as well and I also  really like Sera; as the showrunner it’s normal she be the lightening rod for complaints, but I feel there are times when they’re unfair and undeserved.

Yeah it’s true, show runners do tend to bear the brunt of complaints. I for one am very excited to see what she does with our fair angel’s return.

I feel a mixture of dread and excitement right now. I’m excited that I will see my favorite character and actor on this how again, but I also dread the many ways the writers could handle this poorly.  I’d be particularly disappointed if he was brought back only to be killed off YET AGAIN. If they’re bringing him back, I sincerely hope it’s to stay as a reoccurring character again.
