Fans of the popular ABC Family drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS can rejoice. Not only is the show going to be back with more new episodes from season 2 starting on January 2, but the network announced yesterday that they are renewing the show for a third season.
The series follows the lives of four teenage girls – Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), and Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) – whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). The girls are brought back together when Alison’s body is found and they immediately begin receiving text messages from an anonymous source, “A”, who threatens to expose their secrets.
The third season will contain 24 episodes and is slated to begin airing next summer.
Again, the remainder of the second season of Pretty Little Liars will return to ABC Family on January 2 at 8/7c. [Source: TV Line]
