HART OF DIXIE “The Pirate & the Practice” Season 1 Episode 9 – On Hart of Dixie this week we ran into a few different situations. First of all, Bluebell is looking more and more like Stars Hollow each day, and while I’m biased because I miss Rory and Lorelai like I knew them personally, I adore this feel in Hart of Dixie.
There’s always something going on in the town square and this week Zoe learns all about Planksgiving. It turns out that after Hurricane Katrina, Bluebell was in danger of being completely abandoned and wiped off the map. Queue the amazing residents of the small town coming together and spinning a tale of friendly pirates, buried treasure, and more fish than the small town can eat – and you’ve got yourself a Bluebell tradition!
Zoe is a little skeptical at first about Planksgiving, especially because she’s preoccupied with getting her last 3 patients to reach her 30% of the practice. Never fear, Zoe succeeds and will remain practicing medicine in Bluebell. Hopefully for her sake she’ll become a little more aware of her surroundings. Instead of every week being a life lesson for Zoe, you’d think she’d start retaining some of the things that she’s learned about Bluebell and herself.
Zoe can be deeply stupid at times.
She can also be EXTREMELY ignorant when it comes to men. I’m Team Wade all the way here, and when Wade decides (at the push of Lavon) to tell Zoe how he feels about her (ABOUT TIME!) it was a shining moment of Hart of Dixie. Until things go all wrong and Wade ends up NOT telling Zoe, but keeps lying because he’s scared of girls. Or you know, he’s just shy and knows that Zoe will probably hurt his feelings when he finally opens up. Regardless would these two just kiss already?!
Let’s move on to Lemon and her HORRIBLE in-laws. I love George. However I do not understand how George spawned from the evil that are his parents. They come into town (again) and threaten to ruin Lemon’s Planksgiving, which is just unacceptable. However, it turns out that they’re in town for more than just the holiday. George’s dad wants his son to work at his law firm now that his brother moved on from the family business. At first it’s a huge no from both Lemon and George. They’d need to live in Mobile for three days out of the week, but after the malicious in-laws convince Lemon that she just really needs a mom and that it’s a role that she will gladly fill, the pair agree to the move.
Until Lemon overhears them talking about how easy it was to convince Lemon of their plan – and Lemon turns from sweet southern belle to conniving woman in seconds and I LOVE HER FOR IT. George and Lemon are staying right where they belong – happily in Bluebell.
Hart of Dixie is always a fun and heartwarming watch, and with the new story lines that were hinted at this week, I can’t wait for more episodes!
