Academy Award nominee Elisabeth Shue will join the cast of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, as a series regular, on CBS, starting with the episode scheduled to air on February 15.

While her character’s name has not be released yet, it is known that Shue will play the newest CSI, fresh off an anger management course, amid rumors that D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) fired her when she worked for him in Seattle.

As expected, Shue is taking over for the soon-to-be-departing Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger), who has been with the series since its debut back in October of 2000.

Shue, of course, received an Oscar nominee for her role in the film Leaving Las Vegas and also appeared in the classic 80′s films The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting and Back to the Future, Parts II and III. Her other TV credits include the short-lived series Call to Glory and episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Dream On.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, now in its 12th season, airs on Wednesday night at 10/9c.
