THE AMAZING RACE “It’s Speedo Time” Season 19 Episode 9 – This was a fun leg of The Amazing Race that started our teams off in Copenhagen, Denmark. “It’s Speedo Time” starts off by having the teams memorize a poem by Hans Christian Andersen, then bike to a theatre to perform it to a creepy looking theatre critic. I was so disappointed with Tommy for giving such a terrible performance of is poem, especially considering Cathi gave him the advice to dramatize it so much. I was very impressed with Amani for passing two teams on the way!
Then it was on to Legoland, which I was very excited to see! I can’t think of any other trademarked locations that have ever been visited on this show! They never go to Disney parks or anything like that, so it was interesting to see such a recognizable brand being portrayed on the show. Also I, like Andy, used to be a huge Legomaniac when I was a kid. I would be so bummed to have to rush through the park and not be allowed to stop and admire some of the incredible creations they had there!
Nothing much of consequence happened on the teams’ trip to Brussels except for Cindy dropping her and Ernie’s tickets. As soon as I heard that they were just going to go without their tickets and hope that the conductor didn’t check, I just knew they were going to get a penalty. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to find out, because the race cut off this week as soon as Amani and Marcus hit the pitstop and found out they were still racing. We got the old “To be continued”!
SPOILER ALERT for people who don’t watch the “Next week on…” scenes: The glimpse at next week’s episode showed all of the teams competing, except for Bill and Cathi. You wouldn’t think that the editors would make that big of an oversight and give away who gets voted out on the next leg, but it seems to be pretty cut and dry. We’ll see!
Random Thoughts:
- Man, their Legoland is way cooler than ours! I’ve been to the one in San Diego a couple times and it’s lame by comparison!
- Seeing a tan Phil Koeghan flexing in a speedo is something you can’t unsee.
- Cindy’s butt had a couple bruises on it. Hopefully she got those from falling over recently, or else Ernie has a dark side we don’t know about…
