Mad Men Actress Elisabeth Moss To Appear in BBC Mini-Series TOP OF THE LAKE

While in the final stages of negotiations, it looks like Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss will have the lead in the BBC Two six-hour mini-series TOP OF THE LAKE, which comes from Oscar-winning trio Jane Campion (The Piano) and Emile Sherman and Ian Canning (The King’s Speech).

As detailed at Deadline, the mini-series “centers on Robin Griffin (Moss), a detective investigating the disappearance of a 12-year-old pregnant girl, who is the daughter of a local drug lord”.

It is said that Campion is set to direct from a script she co-wrote with Gerard Lee, while Sherman and Canning will produce. Filming is tentatively slated to begin in January in New Zealand. And while the mini doesn’t have a US network in place yet, it is rumored the Sundance Channel is a possibility.

Moss is currently in production on Season 5 of Mad Men, which is set to return in March, and will film Top of the Lake during her hiatus.
