THE PROTECTOR Canceled

THE PROTECTOR Rats Episode 10

The new police drama THE PROTECTOR has been canceled by Lifetime with only one season under its belt. The series starred Ally Walker (best known for her work on Profiler and Sons of Anarchy) as LAPD Detective Gloria Sheppard who must balance her work life with being a single parent.

The series started out strong on Sunday nights at 10 PM following Lifetime’s hit series Drop Dead Diva, garnering 1.89 million viewers but then, after only a few episodes airing, the network moved the series to Monday nights at 10 PM, making room for the new series Against the Wall, where it sank to 1 million viewers. Shortly after that, the network quietly moved the series to 11 PM where it languished and viewership sank even further.

Lifetime did, however, confirm it will air the remaining episodes in the original 13-episode order with its series finale set to air this month.

The Protector also starred Tisha Campbell-Martin and Miguel Ferrer. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]

I think it’s a darn shame for the network to give up on a good show so soon.  I really enjoy Ally Walker whatever she’s on and watched the Protector from the beginning.  It’s a good show.  It’s not my fault the network moved it’s show time this way and that so I couldn’t even find it anymore.

Ya wanna know why it got cancelled? No one could look past her crazy ass face that had way too much work on it! It was like her lips were on a five second delay after she spoke. Eek.
