Earlier today over on Twitter actress Tricia Helfer, from Battlestar Galactica fame, announced the following:
“Just signed a recurring role (of) Alex Clark in (the new) NBC (series) THE FIRM airing this winter.” She further went on to say, “will be working with some amazing talent – very excited!”
Considering this news has only hit her Twitter feed and some postings at her fan websites, this is a great opportunity for Daemon’s TV to congratulate the BSG beauty on landing this role.
For those who aren’t aware, NBC gave a series order to the TV adaptation of the John Grisham novel made famous by Tom Cruise and director Sydney Pollack on box office screens back in 1993. The Firm will air during this current TV season as a “mid-season replacement” on the Peacock network.
The premise of the show will, of course, still be focused on Mitch McDeere, now played by actor Josh Lucas (The Lincoln Lawyer), and picks up 10 years after his exposé on his prestigious – and secretly mob-tied – law firm. He and his family have spent the last 10 years in the Federal Witness Protection Program, but they are getting out and hoping to reclaim their identities and move on with their lives. But, that isn’t going to happen because there are old foes and new threats around every corner.
The cast includes Molly Parker (Deadwood), Juliette Lewis (Due Date) and Callum Keith Rennie (The Killing).
Helfer has been hard at work lately, appearing in the last season of Dark Blue and making guest appearances on No Ordinary Family, Lie to Me and Franklin & Bash. She will also be seen this November in the Hallmark Channel original film Mistletoe Over Manhattan.
No air date for The Firm has been set by NBC, but given what Helfer shared in her Twitter post viewers can expect to see it this winter or at the latest in early 2012.
