The cast of the HBO series GAME OF THRONES has grown for the much-anticipated season 2, planned for airing sometime next year.
According to TV Guide, British actor Stephen Dillane (last seen in the HBO film John Adams) will play Stannis Baratheon, the stern, no-nonsense brother of the former hard-partying King Robert (Mark Addy). Meanwhile Dutch actress Carice van Houten (Valkyrie) will play a mysterious sorceress named Melisandre, who is a very powerful and seductive woman who will – SPOILER ALERT – be an eventual lover of Stannis.
Additionally, actor Roy Dotrice (best known for his role in the TV series Beauty and the Beast) will play Pyromancer Hallyne, chief of the Guild of Alchemists; and British actress Hannah Murray (Skins), will play Gilly, one of the many women living with Old Craster who wants to escape his oppression and is the tenuous ally to the Night’s Watch.
And who will play Craster, the master of Craster’s Keep which lies beyond the Wall: Welsh actor Robert Pugh (2010′s Robin Hood feature film). [Source: THR]
