MEMPHIS BEAT “Body of Evidence” Season 2 Episode 7 – We’ve all seen the “missing body case” on one cop show or another but this time it’s no ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ parody. When a body disappears before a funeral, Dwight and Whitehead find themselves basically re-investigating the man’s death. This of course leads them to the fact that it appears he was murdered and soon the entire team is on the case to find the killer. Making matters worse for Whitehead is the fact that the whole thing rings a little too close to home for him, after a bad experience with a zombie movie and a missing as a child.
Meanwhile Dwight’s momma adds some humor to the episode, running around and getting everyone in the precinct to volunteer for a charity carnival. I also thought there were some nice moments with Sutton and one of the suspects.
My favorite bits..
Rice hesitating when she had to ask the mother when had been the last time she had seen her son’s body. Ugh, what a horrible thing to have to ask someone.
Rice reassuring the mother that she had her best men on the case.
Garret Dillahunt as the funeral home guy.
Whitehead claiming that a fear of zombies was primal. Heck yeah it is! I know I’ve got a zombie plan worked out.
Dwight teasing Whitehead by telling him he bet his brains were tasty. LOL!
The body is missing again? Uh oh..maybe the zombie theory isn’t as crazy as it originally sounded.
The scene of multiple slamming doors in Whitehead and Dwight’s faces.
The lady telling Dwight she had a nice face but Whitehead looked like a rascal. Yeah, I can see that.
Whitehead telling Rice she had misspelled ‘benevolence’ on the hundreds of Thank You cards she was addressing. Oops.
Elvira? I’d love to hear Dwight sing that! That was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. LOL.
Dwight’s momma asking Whitehead and Greenback if they had any experience as mimes. LOL.
The fact that Sutton was totally on to Dwight’s momma and her little tricks to get everyone to help out more than they thought they would.
Whitehead admitting to Dwight that his cat went missing after he saw the scary zombie movie. Yeah that’d scare the crap outta me, too.
Whoa! Sutton going off on Matt. That was awesome. I love it when he gets all badass.
Dwight’s momma casually mentioning that she was going to give Rice the *rest* of the Thank You cards list the next day. Haha!
Sutton telling people’s fortunes?
