HUMAN TARGET, LIE TO ME, THE CHICAGO CODE, BREAKING IN, and TRAFFIC LIGHT Cancelled

fox cancelled shows 2011
When it rains, it pours. FOX has just cancelled five of its series including HUMAN TARGET, LIE TO ME, THE CHICAGO CODE, BREAKING IN, and TRAFFIC LIGHT.

This announcement comes only a few days before FOX’s upfront presentation on May 16. To be honest the weeks leading to the upfronts is always pretty brutal for bubble shows and this time around FOX took the axe out and slayed its lineup.

There is going to be lots of disappointment amongst fans and all I could think was thank God Fringe was renewed especially after that season finale. But I am very sad to see Breaking In go, as well as Lie To Me (how am I going to get my Tim Roth fix now?!). The other shows I wasn’t really watching, but I do know that Eric was a huge The Chicago Code fan, so he’s probably crying in a corner right now.

But I want to hear from you the fans. For which show(s) cancellation is your heart breaking?

I have to admit that I’m sorry to see Chicago Code cancelled, but in all honesty, I’m getting tired of viewing so many dead bodies on television. I’m searching for entertainment that evokes real emotion. The works listed below made me laugh, cry or rage. With the exception of The Good Wife, television shows, today, just make me feel numb. Fox, use these as examples of quality:
Of Mice and Men, Catcher in the Rye ,My Mother Killed Christ: But God Loves Me Anyway, The Art of Racing in the Rain, Marley and Me, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Sons, Sarah’s Key, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, The Notebook, The Memory Keepers Daughter, Jane Eyre, The Color Purple, Where the Red Fern Grows, Night, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Sleepers, A Long Way Gone, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Time to Kill.

I’m really upset about Breaking In. It was giving me my caper fix until Leverage comes back. Brett Harrison just can’t catch a break.

Even though I admit that Lie To Me had been struggling a little bit with all the changes last season, at least to me, I wasn’t expecting cancellation. I loved having a reason to watch Tim Roth each week. Sigh.

I’m also really going to miss Human Target, which I thought had just started getting into its stride. I loved the new addition of the girls and where the story was going.

And Breaking In barely got a chance! Yet another show that FOX is cancelling well before its time. Such a fun one, too. Grrr!!

Add Terriers and Lights Out to that list and it makes 7 shows that I watch/watched canceled by Fox this season.

So mad about Breaking In getting cancelled. I actually looked forward to every episode of that show. Dutch was a particularly hilarious character I’m going to miss. And it was so great to see Slater and Brett back on tv. I really thought they finally hit it with this show. So the 7th episode is going to be its series finale? sigh… :(

Also, really surprised about Lie to Me getting cancelled. So much for me catching up on that show.
