We all have our favorite TV shows that we watch religiously each week and couldn’t even entertain the thought of missing an episode.
For me, it’s the characters that tend to pull me in and make the show fantastic… and half the time I find myself wishing that they were real people so I could hang out with them.
Making this list of TV characters I wish existed in real life was a lot of fun, and also made me realize a couple of things.
1.) I watch a lot of TV.
2.) I have a very specific “type” when it comes to male TV characters.
Take a look at the list of TV characters that I wish existed in real life below! … and keep point 2 in mind while you read it.

Okay, this was an absolute no brainer for me.
I’ve been addicted (and somewhat obsessed) with Supernatural since it debuted in 2005. From the start, I’ve always liked the younger Winchester, and really, REALLY wished that a Sam would just miraculously appear on my doorstep.
Here I am six years later and still with no Sam (thanks universe!), but I do get to watch him every Friday night. Why do I want Sam to exist in real life? For a few reasons.
He’s a genuinely nice guy (save episodes at the beginning of season 6. Maybe I should clarify – I’d like a season 1 or 2 Sam), he’s smart, he’s gorgeous, and since I have a fascination with the paranormal, I’d really like a first hand play-by-play of some of the hunting trips he’d been on. And… maybe even tag along?
And, well, the kid has been through a lot in his short life, and I’d really just like to give him a hug and make life all better.
But it’s mainly the ghost hunter thing.

I would give up limbs to have my very own Seth Cohen.
While he’s a child of THE OC, Seth is pretty much the opposite of the other characters on the show. He’s geeky, awkward, shy, loves indie rock, and reads comic books.
For crying out loud, the guy wrote a comic book starring his own circle of friends, and made himself a character called “The Ironist”. Now, since those reading this don’t know me personally, let me just tell you that irony and sarcasm are near and dear to my heart. From the moment I started watching The OC when Seth is introduced playing “Grand Theft Auto” I fell in love.
For a geek girl, there is no better character than Seth Cohen.

I told you I had a type.
Reid will conclude my list of smart, geeky guys, but he does need to be mentioned. Coming from the show CRIMINAL MINDS where he works as an FBI agent, Reid is a genius.
No, seriously. His IQ is 187, he can read 20,000 words per minute, and has an eidetic memory. The smart guys do it for me, what can I say?!
Reid can spit out facts and statistics about any topic, and what I love most about him is that he’s unapologetic about his brain. It just is, and like it or not, that’s just how he is!

What can I say about Buffy that hasn’t already been said a million times? Buffy is a Vampire Slayer. She can kick ass with the best of them, and look good doing it. She’s loyal, she’s protective, and she’s always ready with a witty remark or a pun.
Did I mention she’s a tiny blond? That just makes her MORE awesome. She keeps the world safe, but still manages to stay in school, or raise her sister, and stop the apocalypse on countless occasions. Um… do I really need to say why I want Buffy to be real?
I’d like to be a part of the Scooby gang!

Lorelai is the older GILMORE GIRL, she owns an inn, and is amazing. She’s fast talking, full of pop culture references, and drinks coffee by the bucketful.
I would LOVE to hang out with Lorelai; I would love to have the long involved, conversations about pop culture with someone like her. She can hold her own in obscure references, and I appreciate that.
In addition to the pop culture, she would keep things really light and fun; no depressing conversations here!
That’s all she wrote my friends! My five TV characters that I wish were real. There are A LOT more that I wanted to add (Lucas Scott, anyone?!), and I’d love to hear yours! Let me know in the comments below!
