MAD LOVE “Baby, You Can Drive My Car” Review

Mad Love (CBS) Baby, You Can Drive My Car

MAD LOVE “Baby, You Can Drive My Car” Episode 7 – The more I watch this show, the more I see that Kate and I have a lot in common. Not only do we apparently share a birthday but I happen to love road trips, too. Ever since I was a kid and my dad and I would head off at least a few times a year to visit family all over the state. We never packed any special games but we had no problem staying occupied – listening to music (my dad played a lot of Elvis), playing punch buggy and just talking.

Things don’t go quite as smoothly on this road trip, though. Larry and Connie end up in a car together, but somehow manage not to kill each other. Then she gets pulled over and flirts with the cop to get out of the ticket. So Larry decides to have a little fun and sets the two of them up on a date, but the joke’s on him when they actually end up liking each other.

The big story though was Ben and Kate telling each other that they loved each other. Silly me I figured that had already happened but I guess I had mistaken where they were in their relationship. But now they’ve said it and we can look forward to more milestones to come.

My favorite bits…

Larry equating love with free beer.

Ben and Kate not changing their code since college.

Connie enjoying street cleaning day and the cars getting towed. That is so like her.

Finding out that Larry named Ben’s car Oksana.

Larry’s open emissions policy being no warning and no apologies. Classy.

The Larry Munsch Love Doctrine? Really? Why on earth does Ben listen to him?

Kate referring to her roadtrip activity kits as “fun bags.” Har.

Really, really hoping that Larry’s open emissions policy didn’t come into play while he was reaching into the backseat for her glasses. Cuz that could have ended very badly.

The cop giving Larry a ticket instead of Connie.

Ben blurting out that he loved Kate. Oops.

Larry packing a bag of bath salts and suds.

You know, up until the whole squeezing by the breasts thing, I actually thought Larry’s love speech made a lot of sense.

Ben telling Kate that he wasn’t going to hide from love. Aw.

The look on Connie’s face when she found out that Dennis also liked to watch people’s cars get towed. Oh boy, sounds like true love.

Ben being affronted when Dennis said their car had been rocking erratically.

What did you think of this episode of Mad Love? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
