DAMAGES has rounded out its cast as it moves to DirecTV for its fourth season. EW reports that Judd Hirsch (Numbers, Taxi) is coming on board in a key role as a former mentor of Patty’s (Glenn Close).
Hirsch’s character shepherded Patty during her first post-law school job, but is no longer in any position to guide anyone since he now spends his time “at the bottom of a bottle.” There are no details as to what brings him into Patty’s orbit. Hirsch joins the already cast Chris Messina, John Goodman, and Dylan Baker.
This season of Damages will involve a wrongful death action against a military contractor over a war zone incident, and apparently the show’s move to DirecTV after three seasons on FX means it will “push the content envelope” more than it previously did. I’m guessing that means Patty’s rants will be even more epic.
Since Numbers‘ cancellation, Hirsch has guest starred on The Whole Truth and Warehouse 13.
Damages‘ fourth season will premiere on DirecTV this summer.
