NBC’s drama pilot 17th PRECINCT has chosen Eamonn Walker as its lead. Deadline.com reports that Walker will play Detective Chief Inspector Wilder Blanks in this crime procedural, which is set in a world where science comes second to magic. The show revolves around a group of cops at the 17th Precinct, who are surrounded by supernatural elements and investigate magical crimes in the fictional town of Excelsior.
Walker joins Jamie Bamber and Stockard Channing, who were previously confirmed to be playing the roles of police detective Caolan and former homicide detective Mira, respectively.
The project comes from Battlestar Galactica’s Ron Moore, with Michael Rymer directing the pilot.
Walker is no stranger to series television or to NBC. In 2009, he was on NBC’s drama Kings about a modern day monarchy, and last year was on ABC’s cancelled legal drama The Whole Truth. Of course, Walker may be best known for playing Kareem Said in the HBO television series Oz.
