TWO AND A HALF MEN Production Officially Suspended

TWO AND A HALF MEN, which had been on a hiatus to accommodate star Charlie Sheen’s at-home rehab, was due to resume production next week. However, just hours after Sheen went on the Alex Jones radio program and ranted about Two and a Half Men executive producer Chuck Lorre, Alcoholics Anonymous, and some of the women he partied with, CBS and Warner Brothers announced they are halting production on the sitcom’s eighth season.

The official statement from CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television reads,

“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of “Two and a Half Men” for the remainder of the season.”

CBS had already renewed Two and a Half Men for a ninth season, and there is no word on how or if this shutdown will affect that. Moreover, while we know that Sheen will not be paid for the episodes that were left to be shot this season, it’s unclear whether or not the crew will receive any compensation.

Do you think CBS and Warner Bros. Television made the right decision? Should they have done this earlier?
