THE OFFICE “Todd Packer” Season 7 Episode 18 - Who has two thumbs and hates Todd Packer? THIS girl! For real, when I saw that this week’s episode of THE OFFICE was all about Packer I almost decided to bail out and not watch it.
Then reason took over and I realized that I had to, and that other things would probably occur… and I was right. Sort of.
Packer talks to Michael about getting a desk job back in the sales department instead of a traveling salesman. After an interview with Holly where his sales numbers “speak for themselves” she offers him the job, much to the dismay of everyone in the office.
Once he’s secured the job, Packer and Michael have some news for Dwight – he’s going to move his work space back to the annex so Packer can have his old desk back. Well, Dwight isn’t thrilled, Jim isn’t thrilled, but no one that can do anything about it seems to care.
Dwight and Jim decide to join forces (after much debate) to get Packer to leave, but Packer insults Kevin in front of Holly which sort of speeds up the process of “Operation: Fire Todd Packer”.
Ultimately, Jim and Dwight call Packer and pose as Jo in Florida and tell Packer that since he’s done such a great job, she wants to offer him a position with Sabre in sunny Florida.
And poor Kevin! He thinks that Packer’s comments to him are true and decides that HE should apologize to Packer instead of the other way around. But Michael, finally seeing that his friend isn’t the fantastic person that he’s thought he was for all these years, tells Kevin that Packer needs to be the one to apologize to him.
Michael eventually lets Packer leave for Florida.
The Office was great this week. I feel that slowly but surely they’re preparing for Michael’s departure, and having Todd Packer exit and with Michael’s help was a great place to take the show.
I’m really, REALLY enjoying Michael more the last two episodes. While there are still traces of the old Michael still hanging around, I feel like he’s growing up and finally becoming comfortable with himself. This is making him a MUCH more enjoyable person.
I’m still sticking with a happily ever after for Michael and Holly as his exit.
What say you?
