PARKS AND RECREATION “Indianapolis” Season 3 Episode 6 - I honestly just continue to love PARKS AND RECREATION so much that I feel like all of my reviews say the same things. This week, Tom decides to host a party for a cologne maker so he can pitch his
new scent “Tommy Fresh”.
Poor Tom. Nothing seems to ever go right for him, and while he’s the definition of a moron at times, deep down I feel his heart is in the right place. And let’s be honest, Parks and Recreation would be less of a show if not for him. His chauvinistic comments and actions just crack me up. And when you throw in a dose of how self-centered he is. well, it’s just all downhill from there. But he’s still hilarious.
Turns out that Tom can’t really mix cologne, which is news that he takes to heart. But with the help of his friends he gets revenge. And it’s wonderful.
Andy and April decide to go on a date, but they’re both basically poor. which leads to a pretty hilarious situation. April decides that they don’t need money to have fun, and at Tom’s launch party the couple (yay, they’re a couple!) make it a game to see who can come back with the most free stuff.
April ends up posing as a waitress to earn tips,. while Andy stations himself as a bathroom attendant. Andy is probably the most loveable, adorable character that’s been on TV in a long time. His “I forgot you need money when you’re dating someone…” line made me laugh out loud.
But the funniest part of Parks and Recreation this week would probably be Leslie, Ron, Chris, and Ann. Leslie and Ron go to Indianapolis to receive an award for the Harvest Fest; and Ron makes it VERY clear that he is just going so he can visit is favorite steak house.
And by favorite I mean FAVORITE. The guy has a scrapbook of every time that he visited the place. Ann sends Leslie to find out if Chris is cheating on her, because she’s convinced that he is. This is where the episode gets really funny.
Leslie does her detective work and finds a woman’s razor and swim cap in Chris’ shower which sends Ann into a tizzy and she decides to come find out what’s going on with Chris. Meanwhile, the Leslie, Ron, and Chris head over to Ron’s restaurant only to discover that it’s boarded up and closed.
Poor Ron. His heart was just broken which prompted lines like “They boarded her up like a common warehouse. I should have been here…” Chris decides to take them all back to his place to grill, and then Ann shows up demanding to know why he’s cheating on her.
Turns out they broke up two weeks ago. Poor Ann.
My favorite lines:
Chris: “I thought that was a little strange. Highly enjoyable, but strange.”
Once again, a fantastic episode of Parks and Recreation!
