OUTSOURCED “Take This Pun Jab And Shove It” Review

OUTSOURCED "Take This Pun Jab And Shove It" Episode 16

OUTSOURCED “Take This Pun Jab And Shove It” Episode 16 - Oh, OUTSOURCED. I can usually depend on you to make me laugh. but this week something just seemed a little off to me! While “Take This Pun Jab And Shove It” had some funny moments, I didn’t find any that were the laugh out loud scenes that I’m used to.

Not to say that I didn’t enjoy the episode.

When a worker quits the call center it’s up to Todd to find a replacement. And who he finds is PERFECT, of course it cost him sifting through relatives, friends, and just random attractive girls that the rest of his employees recommended. At one point Gupta even interviewed for the second position under a fake name (and a disguise – glasses and a hat) to make two pay checks.

Eventually Todd finds the perfect match. He was born in India but raised in Texas, speaks great English, and even makes American pop culture references! He’s hired on the spot, but what Todd doesn’t realize is what a hot commodity he’s stumbled upon, and how cutthroat business is about to get.

Meanwhile, something is up with Gupta. He’s not acting like himself and he even goes as far as to steal Manmeet’s wallet. Eventually he’s found out (when Manmeet, Asha, and Madhuri see him driving a rickshaw with Manmeet’s license) and it comes to light that he needs the money to pay off a loan shark.

Oh, Gupta.

Like I said before, there weren’t any jump out at me hilariously funny moments of this episode – other than Manmeet at the end when he’s speaking to Gupta about not needing the hat or glasses to become his other personality.

Charlie is always good for a laugh and I WILL say that the scene with Todd and Charlie breaking into the travel agency was VERY funny. When Charlie was hanging the two feet off the ground by suction cups and asked for his glass cutter – THAT may have been my favorite moment of the episode.

Personally, not my favorite episode of Outsourced, but it’s still one of the best comedies around!
