AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL “Erin Wasson” Season 16 Episode 1 – The greatest show on earth has returned. Tyra’s 7 minute long rant started out as an entertaining dip into crazy and it just got worse. Or better, depending on how sadistic you are.
The models have been picked beforehand, so the usually dull first episode has been cut.
Then we got a promo of the various psychos who are going to entertain us for the next few weeks: from baby face whatsername to panic attack something or other, to rat tail pixie girl, freckle face girl, sassy Angelia. Everything was supposed to be out da box. Everyone was a cookie cutter, despite Tyra’s insistance that: “I’m not a cookie cutter. I cut cookies. I’ll cut you.”
The models are tricked. They’re rejected, then not rejected. If I were a human being with emotions I’d feel bad for the fourteen girls whose dreams were given to them and then ripped away. Luckily, the entertainment value squashed the human.
The runway challenge is in a bubble. Jaclyn is worried she’ll be stuck in the bubble for the rest of her life. This is baby face Jaclyn. Based on that comment, she’s my favorte.
Russel James manages some of the most unsubtle product placement ever.
Elegant and chic in a bubble. Over water. On a twelve inch runway. ANTM should win the Emmy for Best Comedy series: watching the models fall into the water in the bubble and then watch as they try to roll there way back onto land…priceless.
Tyra’s critiques are incomprehensible. Unless she’s being insulting. Then she’s plenty comprehensible. The plus sized model is call “fiercely real” with a bubbly personality.
First called out is Molly, who also won best photo. Second is Britney. Finally, it’s down to whatsername and wise ass. And, thankfully, wise ass AKA Dominique, gets through.
