HUMAN TARGET “Marshall Pucci” Review

HUMAN TARGET (FOX) Marshall Pucci

HUMAN TARGET “Marshall Pucci” Season 2 Episode 13 – This episode starts right where last week’s left off and we see the aftermath of the kiss between Ilsa and Chance. The first thing she does is try to go back home and I think that’s because she’s had feelings for him for a while but had to hide them. When she thought her husband had cheated on her, she was so hurt that she allowed herself to finally feel them. Before that I’m sure she hadn’t wanted to act on them, probably feeling it was too soon after her husband’s death.

Well things sure got complicated after that. Not just because Ilsa’s husband’s supposed mistress showed up, but because the woman also turned out to be the one who killed him. Soon the entire team is on the run from some very scary CIA spooks who are quite intent on killing all of them, and I wasn’t sure for a while there who was going to make it out alive. They all did of course and that put everything back the way it was, with Ilsa planning to return to London.

Winston knowing what was going on between those two was great, as was him convincing his best friend to go after her. Chance did and Ilsa decided to stay but it’s not exactly like they jumped into each other’s arms so I guess we’ll have to wait until next season to see how this relationship plays out.

My favorite bits…..

After kissing Ilsa, Chance then describing their situation “under control.” Ha! Understate much?

Ames guessing that women usually run away for love. Ilsa can fight it all she wants and no, I don’t think it’s love but I do think she’s worried it could be someday. How about that for a reason to run?

Guerrero, of all people, describing someone as cold and wondering why they didn’t get hugs.

Winston calling Chance “caveman” and him replying by calling Chance “Oprah.”

The little smile Ilsa gave when she saw Chance pull up on the tarmac.

Ilsa’s whispered query to Guerrero asking how sure he was that Julia was Marshall’s mistress. Oops, Guerrero made a boo-boo.

This bit:
Guerrero: “You wanna speak to the last person who pushed my buttons?”
Ames: “No.”
Guerrero: “Good, cuz you can’t.”

Practically jumping out of my skin when that car hit Guerrero.

Chance and Ilsa lying under a train as it went by = just another day at the office.

Winston walking in on Ilsa in a robe and Chance casually lying across her bed. Yeah, I probably would’ve run out to the van, too.

The look of devastation on Guerrero’s face when he heard the spooks talking about his son.

Chance dropping out of the ceiling like some crazy version of Batman. So freaking awesome.

Knowing that no matter how much Ilsa tried to fake it, killing Julia was never going to be simple for her.

Chance complaining that Ilsa hadn’t picked a lower floor.

Guerrero taking out an entire team of spooks on his own.

The sight of Chance and Ilsa hanging off that building and him promising to never let her go.

The car blowing up (and when I say “up,” I mean that literally) behind Guerrero.

Winston telling Chance that it was the first time he’d ever seen him scared and asking if he didn’t have enough scars to know that they heal. Winston is the man.

Winston making every light green so that Chance could get the airport on time. I seriously had the biggest grin on my face during that whole scene.

Chance asking Ilsa to stay and finding out that she had already cancelled her flight. Awesome.

I love pretty much anything Guerrero, but the whole car scene was awesome, poor Eldo:
Ames: “This is crazy. I thought you told Ilsa you’d stop spying on everyone.”
Guerrero: “It’s like you don’t even know me.”
Head Bad Dude: “Criminals and has been cop, wasn’t there another guy?”
Lackey: “His name’s Guerrero. Some pretty scary reading.”
Head Bad Dude: “Wow, we’re doing society a favor putting this freak out of his misery. It says here he has a kid. See that’s what I mean by a pressure point.”
    Guerrero: “Ames.”
Ames: “I knew about the kid it’s cool.”
    Guerrero: “Ames, take the Eldo”
    Ames: “Where are you going?”
    Guerrero: “I don’t run.”
    And later…
Head Bad Dude: “Who are you?”
    Guerrero: “I’m the freak.”

I kinda like that Guerrero himself did not blow up his car, planned it, but didn’t actually “press the button” so to speak.

Well, here’s violently hoping for a season three, but being glad I have season one and a DVR filled with season two. :)

P.S. I enjoy your review style, the favorite part section is fun.

I loved, loved, loved it. I love Human Target. I saw S2E1 and bought season one just because I enjoyed it so much. I hope that it is brought back. I am thinking that they should bring it back in the sooner than later. Maybe show it from the beginning in the summer to get more of an audience hooked. You know because it is only 13 episodes each season if they show reruns of season one followed by reruns of season two I believe people who didn’t watch it might find it and get hooked. I know I did. I think the ladies are great addition to the show. I know that many don’t agree with the love story line. But, there was a love story line in season one with Catherine. I love each episode as they continue to add to the show. I hope they keep it on air. I noticed that on the Facebook page there is someone providing an address so that we can petition to get another season, I plan on writing. I hope all of the loyal fans do.

Human Target improved greatly this year. I hope there will be a Human Target season 3. The action scenes are some of the best I’ve ever seen on television. The character development and writing was exceptional this season. Most of the stories can work as stand alone episodes, so it won’t be as difficult to gain viewers compared to shows like lost, 24, etc.. I will be looking forward to Human Target season three.
