TBS has announced that Brian Austin Green and Harold Perrineau will headline its new hourlong scripted comedy pilot THE WEDDING BAND.
The Wedding Band follows a group of guys who try to escape the stress and craziness of their lives by performing in a wedding band. Anchored by lifelong best friends – one a perennial bachelor and the other a married father of two – the band will stop at nothing to make every wedding, birthday or bar mitzvah a concert to remember. Peter Cambor (NCIS: Los Angeles) and Derek Miller (Secret Girlfriend) will also star.
The project comes to TBS from FremantleMedia and will be executive produced by Tollin Productions (Smallville, Arli$$). Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle (South Park) wrote the pilot and will serve as co-executive producers while Bryan Gordon (Curb Your Enthusiasm) is set to direct and co-executive-produce the pilot.
Brian Austin Green rose to fame with his role as David Silver in Beverly Hills, 90210. More recently he starred in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and he currently appears in Desperate Housewives.
Perrineau had starring roles in Lost and Oz, and he co-starred in Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. More recently he had a starring role in the short-lived series The Unusuals.
