Academy Award-nominated actor Don Cheadle (Iron Man 2, Hotel Rwanda) has signed on to executive produce and star in a new Showtime half-hour pilot. HOUSE OF LIES is a dark comedy created, written and executive produced by Matthew Carnahan (Dirt) and based on Martin Kihn’s popular tell-all book “House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time.”
House of Lies is a subversive, scathing look at a self-loathing management consultant from a top-tier firm. Cheadle will star as Marty, a highly successful, cutthroat consultant who is never above using any means (or anyone) necessary to get his clients the information they want.
Showtime President of Entertainment David Nevins said, “Don Cheadle is one of the great dramatic actors of our generation. He also happens to be an extremely funny man. House of Lies is the perfect show to take advantage of both sides of him.”
Jessika Borsiczky (FlashForward) will also serve as executive producer for the pilot, and Emmy winner Stephen Hopkins (Californication, 24) will direct and executive produce. Production will begin in Los Angeles in February, 2011.
