UNNATURAL HISTORY Cancelled

Unnatural History (Cartoon Network)
And the history ends here, UNNATURAL HISTORY has been officially cancelled by Cartoon Network and it’s a real shame.

The first live-action series from Cartoon Network was my favorite series this summer and I will truly miss Henry Griffin, his cousin Jasper and friend Maggie as a trio solving mysteries.

Unnatural History was a fun show and unfortunately didn’t get the praise it deserved. Hopefully, we’ll at least get the first season on DVD/Blu-ray to enjoy all over again. And if you haven’t watch the series yet, you can still get the full season on Amazon. Also you can read all our coverage of Unnatural History here.

Thoughts? Were you a fan of the show? Are you going to miss it?

It was a neat, unique show. However Cartoon Network had sort of killed it already when they changed the schedule to only once a week–not even a late night rerun. It made it really difficult to watch with all the shows competing at the timeslot. They have started to do the same for Tower Prep, so I wonder if that will end up with the same fate. Cable networks need to take advantage of their ability to rerun their shows several times at odd hours–it makes it really difficult to watch their shows when they only air once, during network primetime. They could have easily re-aired a show like this (or Tower Prep) on a Saturday or Sunday morning and it would have been a great time to watch.

Kyle you make a good point about a late night rerun. I never thought about that. It’s true that Unnatural History was competing with a lot of other shows that night.

      I’ll miss it!

It was a good little show but it really belonged on Disney, Nickelodeon or Teennick. I think it could have really flourished on one of those. The same holds true for Tower Prep which is also a great show. The audiences for these shows aren’t on Carton Network.
