ONE TREE HILL “Lists, Plans” Review

ONE TREE HILL "Lists, Plans"

ONE TREE HILL “Lists, Plans” Season 8 Episode 10 –
Nathan heads back to school, Brooke tries to plan a wedding that is not backyard trashy and Quinn consults a muderer on how to murder. Welcome to this week’s episode of One Tree Hill.

Let’s start with the murder plot. Absolutely ridiculous. First, didn’t Dan kill Keith in the school and on a spur of the moment? How would he know how to orchestrate a murder and cover it up? Also, how overly dramatic was that music for every scene he and Quinn were in? It drove me crazy. Other ridiculousness included how many times they said murder (which made me say it like MERRRRDERRRR in my head), the fact that they actually made a list of things to buy with the heading “Murder” on it, and some of their diaglogue. “What can I help you with?” “Murder.” Okay. I did like Dan telling Quinn that she looked familiar and wondering if they slept together. Thankfully, Quinn has decided not to kill crazy shooter girl, but now the girl is headed back to Tree Hill to cause more trouble. The cheesiest moment in this entire episode was the very last shot of her looking at the camera. Maybe Dan could come in as a hitman and kill the woman. While he is there, he can also take care of Mia and Chase. I will offer to chip in the extra bucks.

Meanwhile, Brooke is trying to plan a wedding without any money. Julian has to have some money, right? They are not completely broke. Brooke thinks it is easier to find inspiration when you have money. I found this thinking annoying because Brooke supposedly started a company from scratch while in high school and with no money. How did she find her inspiration then? Luckily, she has a pretty cool fiance who forced her to actually do things on her “what to do when you are rich but then never do because you are too busy getting rich and being rich” list. This gave Brooke her much needed inspiration and gave the viewers a much needed break from all of the moping.

Nathan is back to school and encounters fans, athletes and a really tough professor that he chose. Good for him for not going the easy route, but how many episodes are we going to have put up with the struggle against the teacher and getting advice from an 8 year old? Haley, on the other hand, I am loving. I love seeing her pregnant and happy and setting up concerts for Erin with Kid Cudi and celebrity bartending events. I cannot find anything wrong in anything Haley does.

My favorite part of tonight’s episode would probably be Mia and Alex bonding which is crazy considering I am not particularly fond of them. It is so much better than them fighting. Alex will get Chase back even if she has to go behind Mia’s back. Where is Dan Scott when you need him?

What did you think of tonight’s episode of One Tree Hill? Did it feel like more filler? The only thing that was dramatic was the lame murder plot. One Tree Hill needs to step it up, don’t you think? Share what you think about this episode and this season in the comment section below.

I am halfway through this episode…..and I was really loving this season, back in October….but since the post-halloween return, it just has been downhill.

That murder storyline is so ridiculous, unrealistic, stupid, and out of the blue.

Dan’s return is disappointing, I liked him better seeking redemption.

These last few episodes have just been, very filler like….

I agree with everything you said Kris. I thought this season started off good and not it is just petering out. Would hate for one of my favorite shows to end on such a bad note.

The “heading” on the list was actually “burger”, scribbled out.

Brooke needs to shut up about money. She epitomises everything that’s wrong with people’s thinking these days (“ohmigod i’m not stinking rich; whatever will I do?”) and makes it worse.

It seems like the plot is heading towards teaching her that you don’t need money to make you happy, which is a good storyline to follow… but I wish they didn’t have to present us initially with such a horrendously shallow human being in order to get there.

I always love seeing Haley. Bethany plays her so naturally that it’s genuinely easy to forget that Haley is not a real person. As great as some of the other characters also are, I can’t say that about any of them. Can you?

Meanwhile, Alex and Mia and Chase … move on! We’ve done that story now. I was enjoying this new phase of theirs but then Alex goes and starts all the emo back up again. Ugh. And Katie’s been done too… I thought Dan was going to take her out at the end of the episode as he’s been shown to be quietly protective since his rehabilitation.

Of course, the main problem with this show is that it’s set some four years in the future, which places it after the end of the world (in 2012). Ridiculous! This show needs to take itself more seriously!

Yes, but underneath the scribbled out “burger” was “murder” written. I replayed it when I thought I saw it just to double check.

I agree about Brooke and I am kind of disappointed. She never seemed to be all about the money. She also never seemed that shallow.

Agreed also about Haley. I often think that Bethany must be like her in real life or one hell of an actress! Actually, given the live singing performances I have seen from Bethany, I think she is an awful lot like Haley’s character.

I would have loved for Dan to take Katie out. I thought that was what that scene was going to do. It does seem like something he would do, right? Somebody better take her out soon.

Dani: “Actually, given the live singing performances I have seen from Bethany, I think she is an awful lot like Haley’s character.” Yea, exactly! :D

    @ Dani-

    Thank you for agreeing! :)

I am hoping that it’s “Fall Finale” is a bit better.

I am now done with the episode, and the twist at the end was alright, and I am hoping it sets up for a better episode next week…..but the promo for next weeks episode was awful(They’re trailers are always bad, but this one was laughable).

The twist was okay, but it would have been better if Dan had driven up and murdered her himself. I barely ever watch the trailers because they are so bad. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised? Let’s hope so.

The only thing that I want from “Lists, Plans” episode is the title of the song and where can I find them because there were great. If anyone could help.
