Kevin Williamson, co-creator and executive producer of the CW series The Vampire Diaries is working on a new paranormal series.
The project is still in the very early stages of planning, but is described as The X-Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The show would center on a group of people who investigate paranormal happenings. The premise sounds like early seasons of Supernatural to me, but as far as I’m concerned there can never be enough paranormal shows on TV.
Julie Plec, co-creator and executive producer on The Vampire Diaries may co-write with Williamson.
Williamson has recently signed a deal with Warner Bros. TV and this would be the first project for him under this new deal. In addition to the hit The Vampire Diaries, Williamson is also known for Dawson’s Creek and writing the horror film Scream.
