CHASE “Under the Radar” Review

CHASE (NBC) Under the Radar

CHASE “Under the Radar” Season 1 Episode 10 – They played with the boy/girl dynamic in this episode, which was a real kick. First, Jimmy and Luke go off to get a closer look at their fugitives by using their manly wiles in a bar. Then Daisy and Annie team up for a bit, trying their best to become girlfriends and get to know each other better. The best part of that was watching them trade facts about each other not so much like girlfriends, but more like cops doing an investigation.

Now if their quarry had been a couple of former cheerleaders and beauty queens out robbing dress shops, Annie and Daisy would’ve been in real trouble. But because the lady fugitives aren’t your typical girls either, the lady Marshals are able to figure out their next moves a little easier.

Though the team didn’t spend the whole time split up into boys and girls teams, I still enjoyed the bonding on both sides that happened while they were. Annie admitting to Daisy that the reason she kept the old boots around is because her dad gave them to her was great. Her admission that she doesn’t know where he is was very interesting. I wondered if he was in jail, but I guess not, though I do still wonder if maybe he should be.

Overall another great episode, again with the winning combination of interesting suspects to chase, good team bonding and no awkwardness to ruin the story. Keep it up show, I’m beginning to like you more and more.

My favorite bits..

Finding out that Annie actually isn’t Superwoman, despite previous evidence to the contrary, when she didn’t make the jump.

Jimmy making the jump and saving Annie’s butt. Yay for finally getting some Hero! Jimmy.

Annie complaining about tearing up her boot on the dude’s face.

Jimmy suggesting that the case needed a little of his and Luke’s “manly charm”. Yeah, I’ll say!

Luke calling the women “shapeshifters”. Uh oh.. sounds like a job for Sam and Dean from Supernatural.

Ivy trying to convince a young girl that her friend is really a nice person, deep down. Somehow I think the girl was having a hard time believing that while her mother had a gun to her face.

Jim asking Annie and Dasiy to give them the insight on beautiful women running around with guns. LOL.

Reacting pretty much exactly like Ivy did when Karen shot the husband and his blood splattered all over the back window of the car.

Karen blowing away Ivy’s husband at point-blank range. Man, she doesn’t mess around.

Daisy noticing that the garage was so neat that even the Sharpies were outlined in Sharpie. LOL.

Ivy finding out that the coin Karen had been flipping was double-sided. Oooooh.. that’s not nice.

Annie catching Karen before she went over the cliff and Jimmy pulling them both back. Dang, that man in strong.

Daisy finding out that Annie’s secret was, that under those beat up old boots, she’s got pretty feet because she goes and gets pedicures like other girls.

What did you think of this episode of Chase? Did you like the guys and girls bonding a little bit? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
