THE X FACTOR “Live Show 4″ Review

X Factor "Live Show 4"

THE X FACTOR UK 2010 “Live Show 4″- Yes, it is that time of the week again. The fourth live show is a Halloween week, which seems like a cheat though I for one am delighted any week that isn’t ‘Diva Week’.

Mary is singing Could It Be Magic by Barry Manilow, to prove she’s modern and hip. Cheryl criticizes her, but Simon calls her a ‘horny little devil’. And yes, that was the sound of my eyeballs withering.

Aiden has decided to sing one of the few songs that can never be covered. Yes, Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Simon shows us how to smile, which will probably be the most terrifying moments of this Halloween weekend. Well, it’s pretty terrible, but what did you expect?

Belle Amie are singing Venus. Somehow they managed to get through last week. Look at them! They’re friends! Dammit voters! They like each other, so you must like them! They really cannot harmonize, can they? It’s like a drunken karaoke night. Well, they get better towards the end, don’t they? Sort of?

Rebecca is singing Wicken Game, and once again she looks and sounds stunning. I think she has the best voice in the competition, and even though this wasn’t my favorite performance of hers, it was still amazing. The judges think she is brilliant.

Treyc had a panic attack, so she should win the competition. Treyc is singing Relight My Fire. And war is being raged between Treyc and the backing vocals! Which is far more exciting than the actual performance. But the judges love her. The best thing about her performance, undoubtedly, is the judge spat between Simon and Cheryl, who are contractually obliged to fight six times an episode.

Matt sings Bleeding Love. Remember when Lloyd butchered this song last year? At least it was fun to watch him butcher it. Matt is fun-sapper. Even though it was an average performance, the judges all say that he’ll be there next week because he’s fanciable.

Wagner sings O Fortuna/Bat Out of Hell mash up, of course. But at least he looks like a ringmaster. Wow, that’s…wow.

Paije sings Back to Black and thankfully he refuses to change himself to please Simon and he comes out in bowtie and weird scarf. He does have the dancers of death flopping around in the background, but it is only on screen, not literally behind him so maybe he won’t Adeleye his way out of here.

Katie is singing Bewitched, keeping on a trend of singing songs from only movies and television. My first thought: whoever did her make up should be cast into the abyss from whence they came. There’s more flirting with the trumpets. The pumpkin inflatables were more memorable than her performance. Though the judges loved her. Probably because she is not a threat. At all. But Danni disliked her make up.

One Direction sing Total Eclipse of the Heart in True Blood fashion. The audience didn’t stop screaming. It doesn’t matter at all what they sing, does it? They’ll be second at least.

Cher sings Stay and this time she is taking out the rapping and just singing. Oh, wow, she can actually sing. And she cries, bonus! Simon calls it the performance of the entire season. It was definately emotional and brilliant.

So that’s that? Who was your favorite, and who do you think will head home? Sound off in the comments below!
