HUGE Cancelled

Huge

ABC Family has cancelled HUGE, the show about overweight teenagers sent to a ‘fat camp’ over the summer starring Nikki Blonsky and Hayley Hasselhoff (yes the daughter of David. But she actually can act!), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Winnie Holzman, who created the show with her daughter, is also responsible for the awesome cult classic My So Called Life, which, coincidentally, also met an untimely demise.

Huge never earned record ratings, averaging 1.9 million viewers. Though ABC originally ordered 10 episodes, it declined to pick up the second 10 ‘back end’.

The network has renewed summer smash Pretty Little Liars for its second season and Secret Life of the American Teenager for its fourth.

What do you think of the cancellation of Huge? Disappointed? Indifferent? Let me know in the comments below!

I am really sad about this cancellation. Huge was a wonderful show! The cast was great, the plotlines were poignant and the writing was excellent. This was a show that I as a parent watched with my husband, my teenage daughter and my seven year old. There are few shows on television that cross age lines like Huge. I am so sorely disappointed as we were looking forward to next season. I hope someone picks this show up because it really is TERRIFIC.

i cant believe it! i just heard the news! and..im in tears!

im going to tell you, im no love lorn teenager, either! im 43! and this show was one i waited too see every week, once i found it!

this show should go from the summer camp, to the dealings of life at home and in school for these kids during the OFF SUMMER seasonal shows aired.

i really think its a bad idea to cancel this show.

i never went to a fat camp, myself, but i have been plus sized all my life, i would have LOVED being able to bond with others who felt, thought, and struggled like myself in the same areas of life.
i was bonding with the cast through the show.

and i feel like summer camp is over and the camp has closed for good.

    such a sad move, really,

Its just like any other show with a fat person in it.
They never stay around for long, and its very upsetting.
    I LOVED this show.

I am quite sadden by this! I was really enjoying it and since im from the UK i was watching it online, and it was something to look forward to each week. I was eagerly waiting for the second season to be announced. There was so much in that show that was still to be explored… I will miss it!!!!

What a disappointment. A show dealing with REAL kids with real problems who are Barbie Dolls… I thought there was so much promise here.
