MY GENERATION Cancelled

My Generation (ABC)

ABC’s My Generation has been cancelled after only two episode, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Following the FOX series Lone Star‘s cancellation, My Generation is the second television show to be cancelled this year. It was a one hour mockumentary series which followed a group of Millenial high school classmates from Austin, Texas in 2000 then revisits them ten years later in 2010. Sort of like the documentary series Up except, obviously, less successful.

After premiering with 5.2 million viewers, it was already on thin ice when the second week saw a 31% drop to 3.9 million viewers and a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating. With an average 43 out of 100 on Metacritic.com, it was not a critic’s darling-not that that has helped shows like Lone Star-nor had it the audience to sustain it.

What do you think will be the fourth show to meet the axe? Many critics are pining for S#*! My Dad Says to go, but it seems ABC’s The Whole Truth and NBC’s Outlaw are more likely to be sliced from the programming schedule. No word yet on what will replace My Generation as the lead in for Grey’s Anatomy, which stayed strong with over 12 million viewers.
