Would you pay $10 a month to watch more online episodes on Hulu Plus? For those of you who are unfamiliar with this new feature, Hulu Plus is a paid subscription service recently launched by Hulu where … you know what how about you read what Hulu has to say about it in their official statement below:
Hulu Plus is an ad-supported subscription service that provides access to more content on more devices for just $9.99 per month. We think of it as a complement to the free service on Hulu.com. For most major network series available on our service, Hulu Plus offers every episode of the current season, not just a handful of recent episodes. Hulu Plus subscribers also have access to back seasons or full runs of some of TV’s greatest shows, including many that weren’t available online before. Even better, you can watch Hulu Plus videos in HD on more devices, including your laptop, the Apple iPad and iPhone, PlayStation® 3 through PlayStation Plus, and select 2010 Samsung Blu-ray players, Blu-ray Home Theater systems and TVs through Samsung Apps.
Also for those who are more into fancy tutorials here is a video explaining the whole process:
Now, the question is: Is it worth it? Well, I ran into this interesting piece on Silicon Alley Insider about the value of new subscription system from Hulu called Hulu Plus and they had this really cool grid provide by a research firm One Touch Intelligence that showed the following data:
After seeing this graph I myself am still on the fence. I don’t like the idea of paying $10 for old episodes of shows that I can live without watching like “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” but I do see the benefit of having the convenience of seeing old favorite episodes of Family Guy.
