GREY’S ANATOMY apparently doesn’t want anyone to forget the tragic events of its chilling sixth season finale. TV Guide reports that Mandy Moore is reprising her role of Mary, Dr. Bailey’s patient who was awaiting surgery to rid her of a colostomy bag, in the sixth episode of the coming season.
Mary helped Dr. Bailey as she desperately tried to save the life of Dr. Charles Percy, who was shot by a grieving and insane gunman after admitting he was a surgeon. When we last saw her, she was safely reunited with her husband (Ryan Devlin) outside of Seattle Grace. There is no word what brings her back to Grey’s Anatomy, but this is the latest sign that the shooting rampage will have a lasting effect on the show’s storylines. The biggest tip-off is the casting of James Tupper as a trauma counselor in multiple episodes.
