Syfy has picked up MERLIN for a third thirteen episode season, TV Guide reports. Those episodes will appear first on the BBC in th U.K. starting in September, and Syfy is expected to begin airing them in early 2011.
The first season of Merlin aired on NBC last year with disappointing ratings, but the second season proved successful for Syfy this summer, building an enthusiastic enough fan base to warrant a Comic-Con panel.
Creator/executive producer Johnny Capps had this tease about Merlin’s next season, “The upcoming season will add an exciting new twist to Merlin’s ongoing struggle to protect Prince Arthur, as well as thrilling audiences with bigger and bolder action sequences, stunning CGI monsters, mysterious villains and comic fun for all the family.”
Are you happy there’s going to be more Merlin? What do you want to see in upcoming episodes?
